It is no secret that from the day we learn how to walk all most of us want to do is run, run, run! We eagerly take on various tasks and slowly find that our responsibilities continue to pile on the older we get. We tackle these responsibilities either because we feel we have to or because we deem value in the opportunity they provide us with. We spend many years of our lives in these routines that although rather exhausting, seem to give our life more “meaning”. So what happens when you reach an age where daily tasks have become increasingly difficult and you can longer run? You slow down. You slow down because you have to and although many of us have been exhausted for years now, just the very thought of slowing down can bring us grief. We become so accustomed and comfortable with our busy lives that when we are no longer “busy”, we almost feel as though we’ve lost some meaning to our lives. This feeling is natural as feelings of  boredom can transform into loneliness and loss of purpose.

Isn’t ironic that even though most of us also could not wait to finally slow down and relax, we may still find ourselves in a season of life where we desperately miss the busy.  The point is, it’s easy to get bogged down when you no longer feel you can do the things you once did, even if those things once seemed cumbersome. It is important that we learn to accept ourselves in all stages of life and perhaps shifts our views on how we perceive meaning to our life. I challenge you to embrace this new found stage of life and make it just as meaningful as you wish for it be! In an effort to embrace and spread some positivity on this stage of life ; compiled below are some daily reminders/ quotes every senior should hear.
