Maryland, often referred to “America in Miniature” because of its diverse topography, is a small state on the Atlantic Coast, sharing a border with our nation’s capital. Although there is a wide range of biodiversity and climate across Maryland, most of the state’s residents live in the urban areas surrounding Washington D.C. and Baltimore.
